Bird (and other critter) Pictures
A wise owl sat in an oak.
The more he saw, the less he spoke.
The less he spoke, the more he heard.
Why can't we be like that old bird?
•It's
party time at the
bird feeder.
•These guys started showing up about 3 days ago. I think they
are a
House Finch.
•Bill spotted this
bird about a week ago. I have not been able to identify it, so any
input would be great.
•This visitor came with the Red-bellied Woodpecker the other day.
I thought maybe it was a female, but after looking online I think it is a
Northern Flicker •A
Red-bellied Woodpecker
(bad picture, but I wanted to show its red head). Here is a
better picture of it with
a Chickadee. •A
woodchuck (groundhog)
has been visiting the squirrel feeder. I had to take the picture from
the house, because every time I try to get closer it runs away. Here
is a
picture of it from
the internet. •The other day I was
in the house, and heard an new bird singing. It was
quite a song. It
is from a new visitor to our feeder - a house wren. Here is a picture
of the
House Wren enjoying the
suet block.
•Mrs. Raccoon
getting ready to go for a ride
•A
Downey Woodpecker
enjoying the suet block
•One of the
male Goldfinch
stopped by for some thistle seed
•I went to fill the corn feeder
today, and when I pulled off the top I got a bit of a
surprise (a
chipmunk - aka ground squirrel)!
•The Goldfinch are
back in the yard after being gone a while
•Here is an
interesting group - Cardinal, Chickadee, Woodpecker
•The Woodpecker
finally found his way into the feeder
•These Mourning Doves
have a nest at the neighbor's yard, but they come to our house to
eat. •Here is a
Tufted Titmouse family having a party in the feeder.
•Buck
Winston
•Blue Jay
•Mr. Cardinal
•Mr. Cowbird
•Mr. Cowbird
having a snack with Ms. Cardinal
•Red-Bellied Woodpecker
wondering why he doesn't get any suet blocks
•I am not sure what
this
is. A woodpecker of some sort is my guess. ** My sister-in-law Betsy identified the bird as a
